Where is the official AP Socio-Economic Survey 2025-26?
The Government of Andhra Pradesh publishes the Socio-Economic Survey 2025-26 as a PDF on ap.gov.in. The Planning Department prepared it. The file records 17 February 2026 as its creation date. It has eleven chapters and statistical annexures. The chapters run from the economy and public finance to welfare and governance.
Download the survey from the State portal: Socio-Economic Survey 2025-26 (PDF, ap.gov.in). The same page of the portal also carries the 2024-25 and 2023-24 editions. As of 12 October 2026, the Finance Department site, apfinance.gov.in, lists editions only up to 2024-25.

The official PDF is a set of scanned page images with no text layer, so the search box in a PDF reader finds nothing. Some pages are grey in the official file itself, including parts of the prices chapter (PDF pages 49 to 51), the wildlife and sericulture pages (92 to 94 and 108 to 109), and the employment table on PDF page 285. A second download on 12 October 2026 was identical, so you cannot recover those figures from this file.

What are the headline figures of the 2025-26 survey?
Andhra Pradesh's GSDP for 2025-26 is ₹17.62 lakh crore at current prices, 10.75% above 2024-25, and growth at constant prices is 9.88%, against 7.4% for India. Services make up about 43% of the State's GVA, agriculture and allied about 33%, and industry about 24%. Debt is ₹6,35,177 crore, 36.04% of GSDP.
| Indicator | Figure | Period | PDF page |
|---|---|---|---|
| GSDP, current prices | ₹17.62 lakh crore | 2025-26 FAE | 9 |
| GSDP growth, current prices | 10.75% | 2025-26 FAE | 9 |
| GSDP growth, constant prices | 9.88% (India 7.4%) | 2025-26 FAE | 24 |
| Growth: agriculture, industry, services | 10.14%, 9.15%, 10.67% | 2025-26 FAE | 9 |
| Fastest sub-sector | Fishing and aquaculture, 17.69% | 2025-26 FAE | 9 |
| Share of GVA: agriculture, industry, services | 33%, 24%, 43% | 2025-26 FAE | 34 |
| Per capita income, AP and India | ₹2,94,507 and ₹2,19,575 | 2025-26 FAE | 9 |
| Own tax revenue | ₹98,025 crore | 2025-26 RE | 9 |
| Revenue deficit and fiscal deficit | ₹41,118 crore and ₹80,567 crore | 2025-26 RE | 9 |
| Outstanding debt | ₹6,35,177 crore, 36.04% of GSDP | 2025-26 RE | 9, 43 |
| Swarna Andhra target | ₹308.11 lakh crore economy by 2047-48 | Vision | 9 |
Write growth with its price basis and estimate. The 10.75% figure is at current prices, which include price rises. The 9.88% figure is at constant prices, which remove them. A statement such as "AP grew 10.75% in real terms" is wrong. A paper setter can build an option on that error.

Which 2024-25 figures did the new survey revise?
Andhra Pradesh's Socio-Economic Survey 2025-26 prints several 2024-25 figures differently from the 2024-25 survey, because later estimates replace early ones. Growth at constant prices for 2024-25 fell from 9.24% to 8.27%, and own tax revenue for 2024-25 fell from ₹94,967 crore to ₹89,435 crore.
| Indicator for 2024-25 | 2024-25 survey | 2025-26 survey | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| GSDP growth, constant prices | 9.24% (FAE) | 8.27% (FRE) | down 0.97 points |
| Agriculture GVA growth, constant prices | 10.70% (FAE) | 9.03% (FRE) | down 1.67 points |
| Industry GVA growth, constant prices | 6.58% (FAE) | 8.05% (FRE) | up 1.47 points |
| Per capita income, AP | ₹2,68,653 (FAE) | ₹2,66,699 (FRE) | down ₹1,954 |
| Own tax revenue | ₹94,967 crore (RE) | ₹89,435 crore | down ₹5,532 crore |
| Outstanding debt | ₹5,64,488 crore (RE) | ₹5,68,623 crore | up ₹4,135 crore |
| Debt as share of GSDP | 35.15% (RE) | 35.73% | up 0.58 points |
FAE is the First Advance Estimate, made before the year ends. FRE is the First Revised Estimate, made a year later with fuller data. An exam held after the 2025-26 survey is likely to use the revised 2024-25 figure. If you learnt 9.24% from the older book, the option 8.27% may look wrong, but it is the current figure.

How have the headline figures moved over five surveys?
Across the Andhra Pradesh Socio-Economic Surveys from 2021-22 to 2025-26, debt rose from 32.43% to 36.04% of GSDP and the fiscal deficit from ₹38,224 crore to ₹80,567 crore. Services rose to about 43% of GVA. Each year's first growth estimate was later cut: for 2021-22, 11.43% became 7.14%.
| Indicator | 2021-22 | 2022-23 | 2023-24 | 2024-25 | 2025-26 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| GSDP growth, constant prices | 11.43% | 7.02% | 7.35% | 9.24% | 9.88% |
| Per capita income, AP | ₹2,07,771 | ₹2,19,518 | ₹2,42,479 | ₹2,68,653 | ₹2,94,507 |
| Services share of GVA | not printed | 40.45% | not printed | 41.53% | 43.13% |
| Debt as % of GSDP (RE) | 32.43% | 32.35% | 33.71% | 35.15% | 36.04% |
| Fiscal deficit (RE) | ₹38,224 crore | ₹47,717 crore | ₹62,721 crore | ₹73,362 crore | ₹80,567 crore |
| Year | First estimate (edition) | Latest figure (edition) |
|---|---|---|
| 2021-22 | 11.43% (2021-22 survey) | 7.14% (2024-25 and 2025-26 surveys) |
| 2022-23 | 7.02% (2022-23 survey) | 6.37% (2025-26 survey) |
| 2023-24 | 7.35% (2023-24 survey) | 6.46% (2025-26 survey) |
| 2024-25 | 9.24% (2024-25 survey) | 8.27% (2025-26 survey) |
In each of these four years, the latest growth figure is lower than the first estimate. Treat the 2025-26 figure of 9.88% as a first estimate. Later surveys may print a different number for 2025-26, and an exam set after them will use the newer one.

What changed between the 2024-25 and 2025-26 surveys?
Andhra Pradesh now has 28 districts in the 2025-26 survey, up from 26, after Polavaram and Markapuram were formed. Services rose to about 43% of GVA from 41.53%. Renewable capacity grew to 10,639.75 MW, Polavaram's works progress to 60.80%, and the MSME size limits were raised.
| Item | 2024-25 survey | 2025-26 survey | PDF pages (old, new) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Districts | 26 | 28 (Polavaram, Markapuram added) | new p.8 |
| Services share of GVA | 41.53% | about 43% | 28, 34 |
| Agriculture share of GVA | 35.29% | about 33% | 28, 34 |
| Installed renewable energy | 9,068.46 MW | 10,639.75 MW | 141, 183 |
| Polavaram overall progress | 53.47% | 60.80% | 127, 159 |
| MSME limit, small and medium (plant and machinery) | ₹10 crore and ₹50 crore | ₹25 crore and ₹125 crore | 99, 116 |
| Bank credit-deposit ratio | 161.71% | 157.40% | 162, 204 |
| AP rank in MGNREGS employment | 4th | 3rd | 279, 266 |
| Notified ports under the State | 16 | 17 | 2024-25 ch. 7, 194 |
One change looks odd at first. MGNREGS person-days fell from 2,023.81 lakh to 1,635.10 lakh while AP's rank rose from 4th to 3rd (PDF page 266), so the rank tells you about other States as much as about AP.
Polavaram carries two progress figures in the new survey: 60.80% for the engineering works and 27.40% when land acquisition and resettlement are counted (PDF page 159). A question that asks for the project's progress without saying which measure is unclear. In a written answer, give both.

Which survey figures has APPSC asked before?
APPSC has asked 61 objective questions whose answer was a figure, rank or district printed in the Andhra Pradesh Socio-Economic Survey, across Group 1, Group 2 and EO papers from 2017 to 2026. Group 2 Mains gave 42 of them. Each exam drew mostly on the newest survey released before it, usually 1 to 11 months earlier.
| Fact type | Questions | Example asked |
|---|---|---|
| Macro figures: GSDP and GVA growth, sector shares, per capita income, rank | 14 | Sector shares of GVA as a ratio |
| District rankings | 10 | District with the highest GDDP |
| Public finance: debt, deficits, revenue mix | 9 | Debt as a share of GSDP |
| Agriculture and land use | 8 | Net area sown as a share of area |
| Scheme reach | 6 | Number of Rythu Bharosa Kendras |
| Other types: production ranks, power, SEZs, vision, social | 14 | AP rank in fish and shrimp output |
The form of the question is changing. From 2017 to 2019, 2 of 42 survey questions were statement checks. From 2023 to 2026, 7 of 19 were, with two or three survey facts set in one "which of the following is correct" question. Only one question so far named the survey in its stem: Group 2 Mains 2025, Paper II, question 35, on the count of Rythu Bharosa Kendras from the 2023-24 survey.
No APPSC syllabus uses the words "Socio-Economic Survey". The Group 2 Mains Paper II units on the AP economy cover what the survey prints: GSDP and sector shares, per capita income, revenue, debt, agriculture and allied output, industry and services. See the Group 2 syllabus, chapter by chapter and the Group 2 previous papers with their keys.

What could APPSC ask from the 2025-26 survey?
For APPSC exams held from 2026 into 2027, the Andhra Pradesh Socio-Economic Survey 2025-26 is the edition that questions are likely to draw on. Past papers point to growth and sector shares, debt as a share of GSDP, national ranks in allied output, scheme reach counts and the new district map. Each can come as a figure or a statement check.
| Form | Built from | Figure in the 2025-26 survey |
|---|---|---|
| Exact figure | GSDP growth at constant prices, 2025-26 | 9.88% (PDF p.24) |
| Exact figure | Per capita income, AP | ₹2,94,507 (PDF p.9) |
| Ratio | GVA shares, agriculture : industry : services | 33 : 24 : 43 (PDF p.34) |
| Rank | AP rank in egg, meat and milk output | 1st, 4th and 7th (PDF p.11) |
| Rank | Fastest-growing sub-sector | Fishing and aquaculture, 17.69% (PDF p.9) |
| Statement check | Debt share of GSDP; credit-deposit ratio; tap connections | 36.04%; 157.40%; 74.72% of rural homes (PDF pp.43, 204, 15) |
| Count | Districts, notified ports, Anna Canteens | 28; 17; 204 (PDF pp.8, 194, 14) |
| Vision | Swarna Andhra 2047 target and economic regions | ₹308.11 lakh crore; Visakhapatnam, Amaravati, Tirupati (PDF p.9) |
Learn each figure with three things beside it: the year it describes, the estimate type, and the page. A statement check usually turns on one of those three, for example a correct figure set against the wrong year.
Survey figures also feed the monthly APPSC current affairs editions, and the Group 2 Mains marks by chapter show how much of Paper II the AP economy carries.

Which survey figures should you check before you learn them?
The Andhra Pradesh Socio-Economic Survey 2025-26 prints a few figures in two ways inside the same book. North-East monsoon rainfall is 393.3 mm in the text and 339.3 mm in its table. Forest area is 30,084.96 sq km beside a share of 23.59% that belongs to an older total. Learn the version the tables support.
| Figure | One version | Other version | Which the numbers support |
|---|---|---|---|
| North-East monsoon rainfall, 2025 | 393.3 mm (text, PDF p.57) | 339.3 mm (Table 6.2) | 339.3 mm: it fits the 896.8 mm total |
| Forest area | 30,084.96 sq km (PDF p.89) | 23.59% of the State | 30,084.96 sq km is about 18.46%; 23.59% matches 38,436.58 sq km with scrub |
| Current fallow land | 14.60% (PDF p.8) | 8.96 lakh hectares | Neither as printed: Table 6.1 (PDF p.56) gives 14.60 lakh hectares, which is 8.96% |
| AP rank in milk production | 4th (2024-25 survey, dairy paragraph, PDF p.76) | 7th (2024-25 survey PDF pp.8, 71; 2025-26 survey PDF pp.11, 80) | 7th: both books print it in the overview |
The forest line changed basis between the books. The 2024-25 survey counted scrub in a total of 38,436.58 sq km. The 2025-26 survey counts very dense, moderately dense and open forest, which add up to 30,084.96 sq km, but it kept the old 23.59%.
