Where are the APPSC Group 2 previous papers, and what did they ask?

APPSC Group 2 has run under its current two-paper pattern exactly twice: the Screening Test of 25 February 2024 and the Mains of 23 February 2025, both under notification 11/2023. The commission publishes the papers and keys on psc.ap.gov.in, linked below. We placed every question of the 2025 Mains against a chapter of the syllabus and counted: 23 chapters out of 106 gave half the paper.

Where do I download the official APPSC Group 2 papers and keys?

APPSC puts every Group 2 question paper and key on psc.ap.gov.in, and the 2024 Screening key of 26 February 2024 and the 2025 Mains keys of 4 April 2025 are there under notification 11/2023. The result notices themselves sit behind links that only a browser can follow, so bookmark the two listing pages below rather than a result link. Nothing here is hosted by us; every link goes to the commission.

Papers before 2023 follow a different syllabus. The Mains moved from three papers of 450 marks to two papers of 300 in 2023. Older papers are useful for the static subjects and misleading for the paper shape.

How many questions came from each subject in the 2025 Mains?

In the APPSC Group 2 Mains of 23 February 2025, the four subjects were 75 marks each on paper, but the marks inside each subject were not spread evenly: 23 chapters out of 106 gave half the paper. We counted every question against our chapter map of the 1 May 2023 syllabus; the full count is on the weightage page and in the JSON file.

Which chapters did the Screening and the Mains not ask?

The two stages of APPSC Group 2 rewarded different things in the 2023 cycle. The February 2024 Group 2 Screening asked no polity and no economy; the February 2025 Group 2 Mains asked no geography, society or mental ability. One cycle only, so it is the shape of the last paper, not a rule. A question that sits across two chapters is counted in both, so subject totals land a little either side of 75.

This is one cycle, so treat it as the shape of the last paper rather than a promise. The Screening syllabus is six fixed blocks of 30 marks, and the commission can move the weight inside any of them next time.

How is the Screening different from the Mains?

The APPSC Group 2 Screening of 2024 was one paper of 150 questions in 150 minutes whose marks were not counted; the Mains of 2025 was two papers of 150 marks each that decided rank. The Screening sent 92,250 of 404,037 candidates through, the top 23 percent. Both carry one third negative marking.

Every question in both stages is multiple choice. There is no interview and no descriptive paper anywhere in Group 2.
