With dearness allowance at 37.31 percent from 1 January 2024 and house rent allowance of 16 percent in a district headquarters, the gross at entry is roughly 68,330 a month, or about 65,656 in a smaller town. Deductions for provident fund and tax come off that.

The Andhra Pradesh 2022 pay revision, ordered by G.O.Ms.No.1 of 17 January 2022, moved the Deputy Tahsildar scale from 28,940 to 78,910 up to 44,570 to 127,480, and the Assistant Section Officer scale from 26,600 to 77,030 up to 40,970 to 124,380. Most coaching sites in 2026 still print the 2015 numbers. The notification's own post table is the figure to trust.
The revision has 32 grades from 20,000 to 1,79,000. It applied notionally from 1 July 2018 and in cash from 1 April 2020. Dearness allowance has since moved to 37.31 percent, paid from the October 2025 salary.

An APPSC Group 1 Deputy Collector or Deputy Superintendent of Police starts at 61,960 basic on the 2022 scale in notification 12/2023, against 44,570 for a Group 2 Deputy Tahsildar, so the Group 1 entry basic is about 39 percent higher. In 2026 Group 1 is 149 posts to Group 2's 673, and Group 1 adds a descriptive Mains and an interview.
A Deputy Collector's gross at entry in a district headquarters is roughly 94,991 a month by the same arithmetic. The gap narrows at the top of each scale, and promotions in the revenue line run from Deputy Tahsildar to Tahsildar to Revenue Divisional Officer.
