Where can I download the Group 2 Mains 2025 papers and keys?

The APPSC Group 2 Mains 2025 papers are in the table below. Paper 1 and Paper 2 each have four files, one for each series, A to D. Every file is the complete question booklet with the official answers marked, so one file gives you both the question paper and its key.

The answers are already marked. APPSC printed its key on the booklet itself, so the accepted answer (sometimes two) is boxed under each question. To test yourself, keep a sheet of paper over the options, choose your answer, and only then slide the sheet down.

What does each Group 2 Mains paper cover?

Each APPSC Group 2 Mains 2025 paper had 150 questions in two sections, half on each. Paper 1 asked 75 questions on the social and cultural history of Andhra Pradesh and 75 on the Indian Constitution. Paper 2 asked 75 on the Indian and AP economy and 75 on science and technology.

The questions come in a few set shapes. Between them, the first ten questions of the Paper 1 Series A and Series B booklets include a match-the-list question, an assertion and reason pair, a chronological order question, and a question that asks which statements are incorrect. Knowing these shapes before the exam saves time on the day, because you are not reading the format for the first time.

Some chapters gave far more marks than others in this sitting. In our count of the 2025 papers, climate change and climate action carried 17 marks in Paper 2, the most for any single chapter. Balance of payments carried 12 in the economy section. In Paper 1, the advent of Europeans carried 8 in history, and fundamental rights and elections carried 7 each in the Constitution. That is one exam, so treat it as a guide to where to start, and still read the whole syllabus. Every chapter is on the 2025 Mains weightage page.

How are the Group 2 Mains papers marked?

In the APPSC Group 2 Mains 2025, each question carried 1 mark, and one third of a mark was cut for each wrong answer. A question left blank cost nothing. Each paper was 150 marks in 150 minutes, so the two papers together made 300 marks, and the Mains total decides merit under Notification 11/2023.

Here is how the cut works on a real score. Say you answer 120 questions in one paper, get 96 right and 24 wrong, and leave 30 blank. You earn 96 marks, lose 8 for the 24 wrong answers, and score 88 out of 150. A blind guess among four options loses a third of a mark three times out of four and gains a full mark once, so on average it gains nothing. Score your practice papers the same way.

The booklet is printed in English with a Telugu version under each question. Instruction 5 on the booklet says the Telugu is translated from the English, and the English is taken as final when the answers are valued. If a Telugu line reads oddly, check the English line above it.

Which series key should I use?

Use the APPSC key with the same series letter as your booklet. In the Group 2 Mains 2025, every paper was printed in four series, A, B, C and D, and the order of questions changes from one series to the next. Question 5 in Series A of Paper 1 is a different question from question 5 in Series B.

Top of the APPSC Group 2 Mains 2025 Paper 1 booklet: code 2G/201, Paper I, 2025, the series letter A in a circle at the top right, 150 minutes and 150 marks.
The series letter sits in the circle at the top right of the first page. This is Paper 1, booklet 2G/201, Series A.

If you are practising at home, pick one series and stay with it. The file you download already has its own key marked inside, so the series always matches. The letter matters when you check answers from a key in a different file, for example an answer list shared online or a friend's copy. A key from the wrong series will mark right answers as wrong.

How should I use these papers in my preparation?

Use the APPSC Group 2 Mains 2025 papers in three steps: a short first look, chapter checks while you study, and two timed sittings near the exam. These two papers are set to the current pattern of Notification 11/2023, so a timed score from them tells you more than a score on an older paper.

For the full exam structure, from the Screening to the computer test, read the Group 2 exam pattern. For a study order and weekly hours, read the Group 2 preparation guide. For the 2008 to 2019 papers and the 2024 Screening key, see all Group 2 previous papers.

One thing to keep. Score every practice paper with the one third cut and write down the chapter behind each mistake. The score tells you where you stand, and the chapter list tells you what to read next.
